JOHN E. FERNANDEZ has been named director of Environmental Solutions Initiative at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). He is a full professor and director of the Building Technology Program and is director of the Urban Metabolism Group at MIT. Fernandez earned a bachelor’s from MIT and a master’s from Princeton University.

NASHID MADYUN has been appointed director of the Southeastern Regional Black Archives and Research Center at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU). He was director of the Hampton University Museum.
