TONI SIMS-MUHAMMAD has been appointed associate vice president for academic affairs at Allen University in Columbia, South Carolina. Currently chair of the school’s social science department, Sims-Muhammad holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Louisiana, a master’s degree in social science and sociology from Grambling State University and a doctorate in African American studies from Clark Atlanta University.
