GARNETT S. STOKES has been named president of the University of New Mexico, effective March 2018. She is currently provost and executive vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Missouri. Stokes earned a bachelor’s degree from Carson-Newman College and a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Georgia.
