MURFREESBORO Tenn.
A teaching assistant at Middle Tennessee State University is accused of the statutory rape of a 16-year-old girl.
Mark D. Durrett, 33, of Murfreesboro was arrested and charged with one count of statutory rape. He was scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 31.
The victim told police she had sex with Durrett three or four times over several months, including once at his apartment.
