MICHAEL KIM has been named director of the School of Music at the University of Minnesota, effective July 31. He is acting associate vice president (external) and dean of the School of Music at Brandon University. Kim earned a bachelor’s from the University of Calgary, and a master’s and a doctorate from The Juilliard School.

KATHRINE SWANSON has been named vice chancellor for student success and engagement at Metropolitan Community College, starting August 3. She was vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Swanson holds a bachelor’s from Northern Michigan University, a master’s from Montana State University and a doctorate from the University of North Texas.
