The EDU Ledger’s editorial evolution moves forward with purpose. Following last week’s announcement of Autumn A. Arnett as our new Executive Editor, we are excited to continue building the leadership team that will shape this next chapter.
Today, we proudly introduce Jatika Hudson as Managing Editor.
Jatika joins our editorial helm with a career rooted in amplifying voices that deserve to be heard. From her beginnings as a Mass Media Arts student at Clark Atlanta University to her work with BET Weekend Magazine, Steve Harvey Radio Show, and the NAACP’s The Crisis Magazine, she has consistently championed stories that reflect truth, community, and impact.
Her leadership extends beyond the page. As the 2024–2025 vice president of the Society of Professional Journalists of Georgia, she—alongside the president—made history as the first African American women to hold both leadership positions in the regional organization. Her reputation for honesty, compassion, and editorial excellence makes her a powerful addition to our team.
Now, as Managing Editor of The EDU Ledger, Jatika is eager to help guide our publication into its next era—one defined by deeper storytelling, sharper relevance, and a renewed commitment to the people and ideas shaping education today.
The shift is real. The momentum is building. And with Jatika Hudson on board, our editorial transformation continues.
