Dr. Coleman has also served in leadership roles at Indiana University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. His research centers on understanding factors that influence health-promoting behaviors of HIV infected middle-aged and older African American men and HIV risk factors among vulnerable populations.
Dr. Coleman is a graduate of Walla Walla University in Washington, where he majored in nursing. He holds a master’s degree in family and child psychiatry from Oregon Health Sciences University, a Ph.D. in nursing with a minor in education from the University of California, San Francisco, and a master of public health degree from Johns Hopkins University.
