Dr. S.G. Carthell, Sr.has been promoted to assistant vice president for student services at Murray State University in Kentucky. Prior to his new role, he was executive director of student enrichment, academic, excellence, and leadership. Before joining Murray State, Dr. Carthell was assistant vice president for student affairs and director of multicultural student enrichment at Miami University in Ohio.
A U.S. Air Force veteran, Dr. Carthell holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and criminology from Ball State University in Indiana, a master’s degree in mass communication from Miami University in Ohio, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Western Kentucky University.
