
“Dr. Allen’s energy, clarity of purpose, and commitment to excellence position her to be a transformative leader,” MSU Denver Provost Matt Makely said in a statement.
Allen, Colorado’s nationally recognized expert in early childhood education and equity, earned her bachelor’s degree from California State University, Long Beach, a master’s degree from Lesley University, and a doctorate in equity and leadership in education from the University of Colorado Denver. Currently an associate professor of early childhood education, Allen is known for her work helping future teachers understand how race, bias, privilege, and access shape students’ school experiences.
