California Law Will Help Vets Become Farmers, Ranchers

Gov. Jerry Brown on Sept. 1 signed Assembly Bill (AB) 376 into law. The bill is designed to assist California military veterans who are seeking careers as farmers and ranchers.

Authored by Assembly Member Rocky Chavez (R-Oceanside), the bill called for several state and federal agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the California Labor and Workforce Development Agency, and the California Department of Veteran Affairs to “identify and post specified information to assist veterans in entering farming or ranching careers.”
