Job Preferences to be Given to Veterans in South Carolina

application-3690356_960_720As part of a new regulation in South Carolina, United States Armed Forces veterans who were “honorably discharged” will take priority in certain job applications across the state, according to WAVY-TV.

During the hiring process for higher education institutions and government agencies, one eligible veteran must be interviewed for every available full-time position posted.

Beginning in 2021, to be eligible, veterans must meet the minimum requirements for the position. Additionally, applicants have to submit a DD Form 214 /Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty and state Application for employment, WAVY-TV reported.

However, this new regulation does not apply if there are no qualified veterans at the time.
