TAMARA PEARSON has been appointed the inaugural director of the Center of Excellence for Minority Women in STEM at Spelman College in Atlanta. Previously the associate director of school and community engagement in the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing at the Georgia Institute of Technology, Pearson holds a bachelor’s in mathematics from Spelman College and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from the University of Florida.
