MARCHETA P. EVANS has been appointed the first African-American woman president of Bloomfield College. Currently, she serves as the provost and vice president for academic affairs at Our Lady of the Lake University. Evans received a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from the University of Alabama, a master’s degree from the University of Alabama-Birmingham and a Ph.D. from the University of Alabama.
